# Staff Portal Onboarding Checklist

RTOSafe helps your RTO stay compliant. As a staff member, you'll use it to log your professional development, agree to policies, and keep your credentials up to date.

Your admin manages the system — you just need to keep your own records current. Here's what to do in your first week.

***

## 1. Log In for the First Time

You can only access RTOSafe after an admin at your RTO has added you and sent you a welcome email. See [Log In to RTOSafe](/help/get-started/log-in) for how to set your password and sign in.

## 2. Explore Your Home Screen

Once you're in, take a look around — see [Staff Portal Guide](/help/staff-portal-guide) for a tour of what's on your home screen and what each option does.

## 3. Agree to Your Policies

Your organisation's policies are waiting for you under **Company Policies**. You'll only need to agree to the ones linked to your department — see [Staff Agreements](/help/staff-agreements-setup) for how this works.

## 4. Log Your First PD Activity

Record any recent workshops, courses, or other professional development under **My Professional Development** — see [Add a PD Activity](/help/staff-adding-pd).

## 5. Get the App on Your Phone

The Staff Portal also works through a dedicated mobile app, so you can log PD or complete a task without being at a desk — see the [mobile section of the Staff Portal Guide](/help/staff-portal-guide#accessing-the-staff-portal-on-mobile-devices) to download it.
