# Link Evidence

Linking evidence connects your policies, procedures, and other documents to the clauses they address. This makes it easy to see exactly how you meet each requirement.

***

## When to Use This

* After uploading a policy that covers a specific clause
* To connect an existing policy from your **Policies** section to a clause
* Before running a gap analysis — linked documents are analysed for coverage

***

The documents appear in the **Supporting files** section on the clause page.

## Removing Evidence

To unlink a document, click the delete icon next to it in the **Supporting files** section. This removes the link but doesn't delete the document from RTOSafe.

***

## Importing Evidence from Another Clause

If you have a document that covers multiple clauses, you can copy evidence from one clause to another:

1. Open the clause you want to add evidence to
2. Click **Actions → Import**
3. Select the source standard set and clause
4. Choose to import the summary, documents, or both

## What Happens Next

* Linked documents appear on the clause page for easy reference
* Documents are included when you run a [gap analysis](/help/standards-gap-analysis)
